Stella Dei 0.2.0
Today is time for a small release with the 0.2. The game is still very very much into its infancy so I managed to rewrite the entire UI stack. That is I switched to NanoVG which gives us sleek looking fonts and just wow
I've also added a better user interface for selecting your different god master tools
Much better isn't it? And that's only looking at the UI improvements. During my 7 months break from posting, the game received from me quite the graphical update with the addition of atmosphere and bloom for the sun
Yea, needless to say that this looks much better and much more awesome than previous versions. The terrain itself also got a revamp without affecting (too much) the performance.
And great news, I'm now at a stage where I think the graphics fidelity of the game looks good enough that I can start working on actual gameplay instead of *gasp*-phics. So you guys can expect something that's actually funny when the next version comes through.
In the meantime, here's a more detailled changelog:
- Improved the terrain function to use Fractional Brownian Motion (big names uh?) which makes the terrain look cooler
- Added atmosphere
- Added HDR
- Added bloom
- Added fullscreen (toggle with F11)
- Added oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen
- Vegetation now changes color depending on sun power. This is in preparation for a future release which will contain vegetable evolution
- Switched UI system to NanoVG instead of Nuklear
- Removed the 1000km water towers that spawned when it rained too much
- Fixed a bug with planet rotation
- Various optimisations
